To change your PHP version for DirectAdmin control panel please follow the step below:
First you need to make sure that you're not changing the default of PHP set by directadmin which you can locate on the right side of the panel.
 
 
You also need to make sure that you select the DirectAdmin PHP version is set to the first one in the list. For example, below the fist on the list is PHP 7.2 lsphp. Select it then save.
Once verified the version of PHP DirectAdmin is set to default, to change your site's PHP version or enable PHP options navigate to the part of "Advanced Features". Then look for "Select PHP version"
From the "Select PHP version" page, scroll down a bit and look for "Current PHP version", then click on the 7.1 (current) the dropdown selection will be shown, then you can select and update your website PHP to your selected version.
 
From here, you also can enable or disable any PHP extension that you require for your website. For example below, we're trying to enable JSON extension, we just select the extension name, then wait for it to active.
 
The message as below will be shown if the PHP extension is able to complete.
Besides that, you can also set or update PHP value options, you just change the options you require then it's will automatically saved the changes you made. For example below we're about to update the "memory_limit" options from 192M to 512M
Then if your setting able to be updated, the success message as below will be shown.
